Northern Illinois residents have experienced a wide range of animals inhabiting personal property, being nuisances, and causing destruction. Raccons are often thought to cause the most damage and for the most part this is true, but periodically large numbers of other species inhabit homes and other structures that lead to extensive property damage. For example, this opossum that was living inside an attic. A raccoon previously ripped this entry into the attic, moved on, and was later inhabitated by opossums.
